Eliminating sugar and flour is difficult. It is an addiction, after all. However, the physical cravings tend to dissipate quickly once you've stopped eating it. This typically happens within two weeks.
Here are some tips for successfully completing this task:
Start five to seven days before you begin your program (the same day you cut you caffeine intake is best).
Do it cold turkey! Don't cheat - this will only make it worse.
Eat protein with your breakfast (eggs, nuts, seeds, nut butter or protein shake).
Combine protein, fat and carbs at each meal (see Importance of Meal Composition).
Don't go low-fat. Consuming the good fats is not fattening!
Eat every three hours (even if it just a handful of nuts).
Drink at least six to eight glass of filtered water a day.
